Don't listen to the TV ads. They are trying to brainwash you. Do your own research.
With a little reading, you will find that TABOR does not affect schools. TABOR does not cut other existing programs.
What does TABOR do? TABOR will limit state and local spending. That is called living within your budget. Just like we all do every day.
TABOR also allows us, the good citizens of Maine, to have a vote in spending.,
That's right. If we the voters want to, we can override the spending limit imposed by TABOR and increase spending by voting for it. Imagine. We have the power to vote for more spending and not our government.
One more little fact. From 2000 to 2009, government jobs increased by 3,400 jobs but the private sector lost 13,000 jobs. Do you really think the government would like to give you the power to control its spending?
Even if you don't vote for TABOR, get out and vote. We need to take back control of our out- of-control Maine government.
