There's a group of folks within the state of Maine that would like to pay for licenses, pay taxes, pay health insurance and make legal arrangements to provide for their family should they die -- but they need my "no" vote on Question 1 so they can retain the right to do so?
Hmm, let me think ... would I rather mire the state courts, welfare and health system with even more burgeoning debt by denying them this "privilege" of wanting to be responsible adults?
Because that will be the only change of voting "yes"; couples aren't going to stop cohabitating, co-parenting or loving each other.
They would like the right to legally take care of themselves and those they love. Just as I hope you do.
So my only question is: where do I vote?
