Democrats have defeated every bill to allow off shore drilling and to develop our own resources to confront this issue. Instead they play up to the environmentalists, who are pushing alternative energy.
Mainers should ask themselves why we are spending millions of dollars tearing down hydro-electric dams in this state when we should be investing heavily in this known and proven form of energy production.
One only has to look at Idaho, a state that receives 87 percent of its power from hydro-electricity and has the lowest electric rates in the country.
Shame on Tom Allen, Chellie and Hannah Pingree and the rest of the liberal Democrats who distort this huge and very important issue for political gain and then turn their backs on the people of this state.
