This is important because it is becoming very obvious how global warming is affecting Maine. One of the best things we could do is find a farm locally from which to purchase our produce and similar goods.
Doing this cuts pollution from produce that has traveled nationally or internationally. Believe me, it feels so good to know where your food is coming from and where your money is going. It is such a simple action to perform.
You may feel that it won't really make a difference, but it truly does.
Working with Environment Maine has shown me even the smallest things we do as individuals make the biggest difference for the future.
You can find a complete list of participating farms at: www.getreal maine.com
