Ron Paul's truths the cure this nation needs now
Kennebec Journal & Morning Sentinel 03/20/2008

In response to Joseph Reisert's column (Feb. 22) about Ron Paul, most of Paul's supporters are well aware of the reasons behind the noncoverage of this fine American statesman by the mainstream media.

Reisert comes across as the kind of "academic" who cannot tell the difference between normal plane contrails, and a deliberate methodical horizon-to-horizon chemical bombardment. Reisert may be oblivious to the tons of chemicals being sprayed into the skies over America, but it is difficult to believe that he could be in such a fog regarding Paul's reasons for running for president.

For many of Paul's supporters, the fog cleared when they began to hear the views he has held throughout his time in office. Sensing him to be a sincere man, and having a better understanding of the police state on our doorstep than most of his critics, many have given generously to elect the only candidate addressing the real issues.

For Reisert to liken Paul's desire to remain "ideologically pure" to a "spoiled child who won't share his toys," is at best another example of the esteemed Colby professor's complete lack of understanding of America's true condition and what it would take to reverse it. The precious truths that Paul has held onto for years are the cure this nation needs, and not something you will find him toying with.

It's Paul or endless wars aboard and total tyranny at home.
