Sen. Susan Collins' ad simply tells the truth about MoveOn.org, and Tom Allen's connection to the organization. MoveOn.org's despicable and outrageous attack of our four-star Gen. David Petraeus must not be forgotten or overlooked by the citizens of this state and country, who love our freedom and respect and honor those who are fighting to protect it.
Allen voted to support a measure in the U.S. House of Representatives denouncing the MoveOn.org ad (Congressional Record, H10919, 9/26/07). Then he switched and voted against denouncing the ad (Congressional Record, H10919, 9/26/07; RCV#910, 9/26/07), one of very few to do so in the House.
More than $100,000 in campaign contributions were raised for Allen through MoveOn.org after his vote, and, at the time of his vote, Allen had already received almost $250,000 through the organization.
Perhaps DiGiulio should be aware of what organizations stand for that he belongs to. Should he belong to an organization that produces the likes of the Petraeus ad?
