As I see it, the Taser is becoming a policeman's first choice rather than the "next-to-last" choice. It is being misused by state police who are in a rush to defuse a situation.

The "punishment" is delivered before the trial -- not after. No judge or jury present. Is it a form of torture? Absolutely. No one could disagree with that.

Police need to be patient, be calming and be human.

Torture is not an option!

I agree,the tazer is torture. Bring back the billy club so cops can strike the nose and break it and also put a couple of lumps on the skull.

Sorry you were tased you should have complied with the troopers instructions instead of acting out.

I have been tased and stunned as part of training and prefer that to pepper spray or other chemical agents that have long lasting efects. It is just a jolt from a 9 volt battery after all.

I agree. I to had to be engaged w/ it to carry it on duty...it's not that bad.
