Club provides
oasis for teens
Kennebec Journal & Morning Sentinel

The Augusta Boys and Girls Club for Teens is a wonderful, enriching, supportive and very real alternative for young people who need a healthy place to be after school. I have personally watched students learn how to create something beautiful out of clay, design and build models of their "dream" homes, play "Guitar Hero" with all of the authenticity of Jimi Hendrix, and learn to sew clothing they can actually wear. There is no place anything like it that I am aware of in Augusta, and it deserves all of the support and consideration the city councilors can muster on its behalf.

As a previous teacher and coach for over 20 years, when it comes to young people, my motto has always been, "You either pay now, or you pay later."
