The light lit up the sky enough to catch our eyes and then, as we followed it moving slowly, it suddenly took off at an amazing rate of speed, faster then anything we've ever seen.

What you may have seen at that time
was the Space Shuttle /Station .. going thru orbit...it was said that is would be visible in the sky at the time/date you have mentioned.. hope this will help you out report abuse
