Why force state workers to join employees' union?

An example of what's wrong with Maine's governor and those who support his way of thinking is the governor mandating that all state employees must pay union dues regardless of whether they belong to the union.

Now tell me, why those who want to work for the state of Maine need to join a union? Whatever happened to "by the people, for the people"? His argument for mandating union dues is that all employees benefit from collective bargaining. So tell me, why did the state employees go two years without a contract? Collective bargaining?

Does the governor feel obligated to support unions while he is in office now because if it weren't for the unions he would have never been elected? Someone else would be sitting in the governor's seat who truly represented the people. As long as there is a Democratic Legislature, Maine will always be rated in the top five states with the highest taxes in the nation. All this Legislature has done is take away our rights, steal our money and lie while they put it to us.
