Eagles win pitching duel

SOUTH CHINA -- Camillo Pardo pitched a complete-game one-hitter to lead Erskine Aca-demy past Belfast Area High School 1-0 in a Kennebec Valley Athletic Conference Class B baseball game Friday.

Pardo struck out six and walked one. He had five 1-2-3 innings, throwing 78 pitches in all. Erskine (6-3) scored in the third when Derek DeRose reached on a bunt single, was sacrificed to second by Sean Hutchinson and after a walk to Nick Grady, came home on a Pete Gerrity RBI single. Derick Bernosky pitched equally as well, allowing four hits while striking out five and walking two for Belfast (2-6). Matt Steinort had the only hit for the Lions.

Hall-Dale 1, Wiscasset 0: Ryan Leach pitched a complete-game shutout and drove in the game-winning run as the Bulldogs earned the Mountain Valley Conference win in Wiscasset.

Leach allowed two hits, didn't walk a batter and struck out six to earn his first win of the season. He needed 84 pitches to go the distance.

Leach also drove in the game-winning run with a double in the fifth inning for Hall-Dale (6-3). Josh Acedo started the inning with a single, moved to second on a sacrifice bunt by Dylan Dupont.

Kyle Wright was then walked putting runners on first and second. Acedo scored on Leach's double and Wright was thrown out at the plate.

Wiscasset falls to 2-5.

Winthrop 13, Carrabec 3, 5 innings: Easton Morang pitched a complete-game three-hitter, striking out seven and walking none to lead the host Ramblers to the MVC win.

Bryan Lawson had a double and two RBIs for Winthrop (8-1) while Tyler Cobb had a single and two RBIs. Forrest Dwyer homered. Pat Daubenberger doubled for Carrabec (0-9).

Gardiner 12, Oak Hill 0, 5 innings: The host Tigers used nine runs on eight hits in the first inning to jump out to the lead and coast to the KVAC Class B win.

Forrest Chadwick tripled for Gardiner (7-1) while Alex Wheelock had a double. Mike Lavallee went the distance, allowing five hits, striking out eight and walking one.

Tom Edgecomb doubled for Oak Hill (3-5).

Cony 12, Leavitt 2, 5 innings: T.J. Vallee hit a two-run home run and drove in three runs as the Rams cruised to a win in Augusta.

Jake Lachance had three singles and a double, driving in two and scoring two runs for Cony (8-3).

Charlie Partridge added a single, a double and three RBIs.

Jake Beland earned the win for Cony, allowing two runs on six hits, while striking out six and walking none.

Leavitt falls to 1-10.

Brewer 11, Messalonskee 1: The host Witches cruised past the Eagles under the lights. No other information was available from the game.
