Greg was a 1967 graduate of Erskine Academy.
He was employed by Kempton Tobey & Son Inc. as a driver and heavy-equipment operator. He worked for them faithfully for 44 years. Greg loved the outdoors, the ocean and the Red Sox, and he was dedicated to his family.
Greg was predeceased by his father, Elden Davis; his mother, Carmen Stowe; and his stepfather, Earl Stowe.
Surviving is his wife, Maryann (Staples) Davis of South China; four sons, Kurt and wife Jen, Justin and wife Wendy, Reggie, and Greg Jr.; one daughter, Tamra Davis and significant other Eric; four brothers, Pat, Jeff, John and Bernard; two half brothers, Mike and Tony; one half sister, Gloria Russell; 12 grandchildren, Kayla, Sara, Brandon, Amber, Emily, Sam, Dylan, Derek, Reggie, Bridget, Christian and Sebastian; and several special nieces and nephews.
There will be no public visiting hours. A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, Oct. 2, at China Baptist Church. Burial will occur in Chadwick Hill Cemetery, China.
Memorial donations may be made to Gregory B. Davis Sr. Memorial Fund, c/o Tamra Davis, 481 Nelson Road, Vassalboro, ME 04989.
