AUGUSTA -- A number of people were indicted in the most recent session of the grand jury in Kennebec County.

An indictment is not a determination of guilt, but it indicates that sufficient evidence is present to proceed with formal charges and a trial in superior court.

* Sarah M. Vitale, 28, of Waterville, 19 counts of burglary, 17 counts of theft by unauthorized taking, two counts of attempted theft by unauthorized taking and one count of receiving stolen property, Aug. 25 to Sept. 11 in Albion, China, Hallowell, Monmouth, Pittston, Sidney, Vassalboro and Windsor.

* Luke J. Greenlaw, 36, of Augusta, 19 counts of burglary, 17 counts of theft by unauthorized taking, two counts of attempted theft by unauthorized taking and one count of unlawful possession of scheduled drugs, Aug. 25 to Sept. 11 in Albion, China, Hallowell, Monmouth, Pittston, Sidney, Vassalboro and Windsor.

* Keith R. Laney II, 36, of Augusta, theft by unauthorized taking, criminal mischief and criminal trespass, all Sept. 22 in Gardiner.

* Eric L. Prevost, 29, and Tabitha L. Waddell, 31, both of Augusta, aggravated trafficking in cocaine, unlawful possession of cocaine, conspiracy to commit drug trafficking and criminal forfeiture of $1,205 in cash, all Oct. 9 in Augusta.

* George R. Higgins, 43, of Augusta, 24 counts of theft by unauthorized taking, eight counts of burglary, six counts of criminal trespass and four counts of criminal mischief, April 15 to Sept. 22, in Augusta, Belgrade, Gardiner, Manchester, Monmouth, Readfield, Wayne and West Gardiner.

* Martha E. Bergeron, 30, of Sidney, three counts of theft by unauthorized taking and one count each of criminal trespass and criminal mischief April 28 to Sept. 22 in Augusta and Gardiner.

* Lee Owen Charles Cochran, 49, of Winthrop, aggravated trafficking in marijuana and criminal forfeiture of $1,393 in cash and six firearms, June 25 in Winthrop.

* Tanya McLaughlin, 30, of Windsor, acquiring drugs by deception Aug. 13, 2008, in Augusta.

* Nicole L. Pierce, 23, of Augusta, burglary Sept. 26 in Manchester.

* James W. Altri, 44, of Waterville, aggravated assault and assault May 26 in Waterville.

* Lawrence Best, 27, of Waterville, aggravated trafficking in cocaine, aggravated unlawful furnishing of cocaine, unlawful possession of cocaine base, aggravated forgery and criminal forfeiture of $987, all in Waterville.

* Jeffrey M. Smiley, 27, of Augusta, receiving stolen property Dec. 13, 2008, in Augusta.

* Benjamin K. Chabot, 22, of Augusta, four counts of unlawful trafficking in scheduled drugs and one count each of falsifying physical evidence, marijuana cultivation and criminal forfeiture April 13 to July 9, all in Augusta.

* Jeremy J. Judkins, 29, of Manchester, arson and burglary Sept. 26 in Manchester.

* Dillanger L. Smart, 27, of Litchfield, terrorizing Feb. 17 in Winslow.

* Eric Jason Emery, 29, of Oakland, violation of condition of release and unlawful possession of scheduled drug Nov. 12 in Waterville.

* Brandy L. Anderson, 18, of Augusta, gross sexual assault and unlawful sexual contact Jun 5 in West Gardiner.

* Amanda L. Marchetti, 22, of Jay, reckless conduct, domestic violence terrorizing and violating condition of release, all July 3 in Fayette.

* William Joseph McLain Jr., 27, of Clinton, operating after revocation Aug. 20 in Benton.

* Cameron C. Wilson, 21, of Windsor, aggravated assault and assault Feb. 7 in Pittston.

* Daniel L. Nelson, 28, of Gardiner, eluding an officer, operating after suspension, driving to endanger, criminal operating under the influence, criminal speed, unauthorized use of property and violation of condition of release July 19 in Gardiner.

* Gregory M. Fisher, 38, of Gardiner, domestic violence assault and terrorizing Sept. 4 in Windsor.

* David Garcia, 31, of Manchester, eluding an officer, criminal OUI and unauthorized use of property Aug. 22 in Winthrop and Manchester.

* Todd E. Bubar, 33, of Burnham, operating after revocation June 22 in Clinton.
