Jones, of Dresden, left to take a job as a teller at KeyBank in Wiscasset. Her last day is today.
Selectwoman Carole Swan said Gordon worked at the Town Office from 2000 to 2005.
"She knows both jobs, she's cross-trained as town clerk and deputy town manager," Swan said. "She'll start the first of December. I think she's going to be a huge asset."
Also, deputy tax collector and deputy treasurer Carol Belanger, who left three months ago, has been replaced by Jean Mank, of Woolwich, Town Manager Carrie Khalvati said.
Mank was hired as a general office aide with responsibilities as deputy treasurer and tax collector. She currently is the motor vehicle agent. "She has wonderful municipal experience and was a clerk before," Khalvati said.
