There were no declared candidates in the race to fill the seat Gerald Mitchell vacated in September. Badeau will serve the remainder of Mitchell's term, which expires June 30, 2010.
Kevin Lewis had announced a write-in candidacy for Mitchell's seat, but he collected only 52 votes compared to Badeau's 61.
Seniors invitedto Farmingdale lunch
FARMINGDALE -- Senior citizens are invited to a senior lunch this month, Town Clerk Phyllis Weeks said.
The dinner, put on by the town, will take place at noon Nov. 19 at United Methodist Church in Gardiner. Reservations are requested by Nov. 13.
Canadian artisttouring churches
Award-winning Canadian Christian artist Stephanie Israelson will perform Saturday at Greene Baptist Church.
Israelson, who will make stops at churches in Augusta, Whitefield, Gardiner and Waterville, will perform at 7 p.m.
The concert, which is free and open to the public, is a kick off for a new contemporary service the church will offer at 7 p.m. every Saturday.
Israelson is set to perform at the Augusta First Church of the Nazarene at 10 a.m. Sunday.
