Residents can drop off recyclables in a "silver bullet" container that will be transported to ecomaine's Portland facility for recycling.
On July 8, the transfer station will gain a new compactor, Readfield Town Manager Stefan Pakulski said.
Along with the new recycling system, the transfer station's layout is changing.
Drivers will enter the area from North Road, navigate through the station counterclockwise and exit onto North Road.
The new road might not be ready for travel Saturday due to recent rain, but the new traffic layout will be in place.
Signs will advise drivers how to proceed.
