Selectmen have discussed seeking voter approval on Nov. 4 to discontinue about 185 feet of the road running west off Lakeview Drive, as part of a project to change the intersection from a slant to a right angle.
This project is part of the traffic-calming measures planned in reaction to the Hannaford supermarket to be built on Windsor Road, on the other side of South China Village.
After the hearing, the agenda calls for recognition of a Spirit of America award nominee, followed by discussion of other local ballot questions for Nov. 4. Selectmen need to decide whether to ask voters to adopt amendments to the Streets and Ways Ordinance and to the Land Development Code, the latter by adding a Wireless Telecommunications Facilities Siting Ordinance.
Also on the agenda are continued discussion of leasing the old town house basement and consideration of a liquor license renewal application for the China Dine-ah on Lakeview Drive.
The final item is a request for an executive session to discuss a pending administrative consent agreement to resolve a land use ordinance violation.
