AUGUSTA -- Two people were sentenced to six months behind bars for setting fire to a car Jan. 28 in Augusta.

Christopher Phillip Bell, 24, of Augusta, and Rose Trainito, 41, of Revere, Mass., pleaded guilty to an arson this week in separate hearings held in Kennebec County Superior Court.

They were each sentenced to five years in jail, all but six months suspended, two years' probation.

Last month, a Massachusetts man pleaded guilty to arson in the same incident.

Several other people were sentenced recently in separate cases handled in Kennebec County Superior Court.

* Brett R. Strout, 26, of Augusta, burglary and theft Sept. 14, 2007, in Chelsea; 10 years in prison, with all but 30 months suspended and three years' probation, $10,750 restitution.

* Brett W. Massey, 37, of Readfield, operating under the influence June 16, 2007, in Winthrop; 48-hour jail sentence, $500 fine, 90-day license suspension.

* David Boisvert, 54, of Winslow, trafficking in methadone Sept. 13, 2007, in Winslow; three-year jail sentence, all but 30 days suspended, two years' probation, $400 fine.

* Ty Donahue-Beard, 31, of Fairfield, two counts each of burglary and theft and one count of criminal mischief, all Nov. 8, 2007, in Benton; three years in jail, all but seven days suspended, two years' probation, up to $1,200 restitution.

* Gerald Richard Sounier, 32, of Bangor, escape Jan. 3 in Augusta; 15 days in jail, credit for time served.

* Jason M. Wing of Augusta, 28, of Augusta, receiving stolen property March 7 in Augusta; $200 fine.

* Vanessa J. Levesque, 22 of Hallowell, OUI March 18 in Hallowell, seven-day alternative sentencing program, $500 fine, 90-day license suspension.

* Eric L. Grove, 25, of Scarborough, five counts of failure to pay Maine income tax or file a return during years 2002 through 2006; six months in jail, all but 10 days suspended, two years' probation, $930 in fines and fees and $24,065 restitution.
