Cotta, whose district includes China, Albion, part of Benton, and Unity Township, is a retired Army helicopter pilot and former transportation consultant.
A China resident, he served on the Legislature's State and Local Government Committee.
As a lawmaker, he worked to protect funding for the state's oversight office, and considers cutting taxes, improving education and affordable health insurance as key priorities.
