Ryan M. Davis, 21, of Vienna, and Natalie R. Gaignard, 31, of Augusta both appeared in Newburyport District Court Monday, court clerks confirmed.
A judge set cash bail for Davis at $50,000, and let Gaignard's bail remain at $25,000. Davis is charged with trafficking in cocaine, possession of heroin, conspiracy to violate drug law and possession of an electrical stun gun. Gaignard is charged with trafficking in cocaine, possession of marijuana, conspiracy to violate drug law, carrying a dangerous weapon and being present where heroin is kept, according to a news release from Amesbury police Sgt. Albert Chatigny.
The two were arrested Friday while traveling in a Dodge Neon with Maine plates.
Amesbury police said three occupants were frisked and arrested after they were found with a small amount of narcotics or illegal weapons, including a billy club and a Taser.
The third person arrested was Andy Q. Goodall, 21, of Old Town. He was charged with possession of marijuana.
Amesbury police reported finding 93 grams of cocaine and 7 grams of heroin seized from Davis as well as $314 in cash and the Taser.
Gaignard had two bags of marijuana, drug paraphernalia, needles and rolling papers, police said.
The police said they believe the drugs found on Davis were purchased from another man, Alnardy C. Gonzalez, 24, of Lawrence, Mass., just prior to the traffic stop.
Gonzalez, who was traveling in a separate vehicle, also was arrested and faces charges of trafficking in cocaine, trafficking in heroin and conspiracy to violate drug law.
Davis and Gaignard are to appear in court again May 19.
