Vose, 26, who replaces Richard Duncan, was nominated for the post by Mayor Roger Katz.
"He brings to the job a youthful perspective and a wonderful work ethic," Katz said in introducing Vose to the council, which approved the appointment. "He is a rising star at PFG NorthCenter."
"The future of our city is in the hands of the next generation and Corey is a wonderful example of that next generation," the mayor said.
Vose has a bachelor's degree in business and finance from the University of Maine at Farmington and works as a senior buyer of seafood and dairy for Augusta-based PFG NorthCenter, a food service supply company. Vose, his wife and their 2-year-old son moved to Augusta about three years ago, he said.
"I am fairly new to Augusta and moved here in part to become more involved in the community," Vose wrote in his application to join the Planning Board.
"We have put our roots down here and I am looking to be a part of the future of Augusta," he said. "We have a great city and I would like to do my part to contribute."
