VASSALBORO — The last item on Tuesday’s Planning Board agenda is likely to be of most interest to residents: a pre-application conference on a proposal for a dance hall and bar in the former Kennebec Bean Factory in North Vassalboro.
Steve Pelletier and Al Barton are proposing the commercial development, which would be in the Outlet Stream shoreland zone.
The pre-application conference is informational only, Code Enforcement Officer Paul Mitnik said; the board will make no decision.
Prior agenda items, in order, are:
• Richard Bouchard’s application to renew his permit to expand a seasonal camp off Webber Pond Road near the dam and convert it to year round use;
• an application from Nate Gray of the state Department of Marine Resources for a shoreland permit to repair the Webber Pond dam gates; and
• Sandy Lamothe’s application to renew an August 2006 permit to put a seasonal building at 70 Three Mile Pond Road on a new foundation and convert it to year round use.
Mitnik commented that ordinance revisions since 2006 require a property owner to move a building farther from the water, if possible, when putting in a new foundation.
The Planning Board meets at 7 p.m. Tuesday in the Town Office.
