CHINA — The Budget Committee meets at 6 p.m. Thursday in the Town Office to make a recommendation on the proposed expenditure selectmen approved Monday.
Selectmen added to the March 29 town business meeting warrant an article asking if voters will appropriate up to $81,500 from undesignated fund balance to buy the lot south of the Town Office, at the intersection of Lakeview Drive and Alder Park Road. Fund requests are submitted to town meeting voters with recommendations from the selectmen and the Budget Committee. Selectmen voted 3-1 Monday to recommend that voters approve the expenditure.
The Budget Committee is scheduled to begin study of the 2008-09 school budget at a Feb. 20 joint meeting with the School Committee, scheduled for 7 p.m. in the Town Office.
