AUGUSTA -- Nickelodeon and Broadway Across America will present the national touring production of "The Backyardigans Live!: Tale of the Mighty Knights" for performances at 3 and 7 p.m. June 17 at the Augusta Civic Center.

Instrumental quintet bridges gap between American, West African music Toubab Krewe plans performance in Portland on Wednesday
Luke Quaranta is a percussionist in the rock-West African music quintet known as Toubab Krewe. The band is on the road, supporting their self-titled debut CD.

'Postcards' proves music is in the genes
When I got the package from Rock Ridge Music that had last week's Dare U.S. debut double-CD collection, today's CD was also included. You see 54 Seconds' "Postcards from California" came out last August. I found out the frontman for this Southern England-born, Austin, Texas-based quartet is none other than Spencer Gibb, son of Bee Gees' Robin Gibb, a member of one of my favorite bands.
