How are adjoining landowners going to feel about being asked to let anyone to hunt on their non-fenced properties for free? I can imagine a variety of answers to this question.

There could be no valid reason for adjoining landowners from getting approval to also get approval to duplicate his neighbor's fenced farm.

Adjoining or any other landowners in the state could rightly stop allowing free hunting on their lands. Or at least want payment for this kindness.

Which would be more difficult? Keeping animals in or typical landowners out? Or perhaps, just shooting-through-fences type persons.

Who gets to hunt animals who traverse in or out of areas where fences have been cut.

Or if a hunter cuts the fence and then enters claiming he didn't see the fence be prosecuted?

CommomSense of Gardiner, that’s almost exactly what some of the bear baiting and trapping laws allow in Maine.

Thanks to a lot of support from the old boy network at Inland Fisheries and Wildlife, Maine law allows bears to be baited and trapped at the bait sight. Maine law also allows shooting bear over bait and to the best of my knowledge there is nothing in Maine laws the disallows a Maine licensed guide who baits and traps these hapless bears from taking a “client” to the trapped bear and allowing him to shoot the animal in the trap.

These things happen in a State where people don’t question and keep track of what State officials are selling for quick cash.

Maine is going to have a big problem with its environment due to regular folks trusting State officials to do the right thing. Time and time again conservation and environmental protection just isn’t happening due to an unwatched and corrupt system in Maine.report abuse
