LA is a great school but some of your facts are not based in reality. First, unlike LA, ALL students at WHS take standardized tests unless they are severely developmentally delayed. Lincoln's scores therefore are higher because they don't reflect the entire population. Does every junior at LA take the SAT's and are those scores reported to the State?
Better colleges? So Franklin Pierce, Harvard, Worcester Polytech, and RPI are bad? Do we look down our noses at UMO?
My kids all went to WHS and now enjoy great careers and lifestyles. I would like to think that in part, this is due to the education they received at WHS.report abuse
Winthrop High School (a stand-alone) is attempting something similar; however, they have hired former superintendent, Terry Despres to help them increase enrollment under his private business. Why is it that schools such as Wiscasset can demonstrate educational leadership and work from within their own learning organization, while others must hire out to do what can be done at no increased cost to taxpayers?report abuse
