Lahteinen, you need to modify the statement to;

"Those who voted for the boneheads who have no idea what they're doing in Augusta need to run for office and see how hard is is to run a "not so great" state like Maine."

It is safe to say that in 1950 there were more people working in the paper making industry or shoe industry than there were people working for the state.

Now the largest industry in the "great" state of Maine "is" the State of Maine. Industry? far from it...the state produces nothing but misery and in harsh economic times sucks the last drops of financial promise out of our lives and rewards it to those who have failed to become productive members of society.

Not just complaining here...I offer a solution, in the last election I convinced 10 people within my district to vote for those who are not tax and spend types. Unfortunately I was still in the minority. Now, if enough of the rest of you do the same in the next cycle we can start to improve things.report abuse

This just proves that regardless of who's in office, or who's making the tough decisions, you always have good times and bad times. Now just happens to be a bad time. Eventually the good times will be back.

We must learn from mistakes made, and try to make the next "good times" last as long as they possibly can.

Also, I agree that people that do the most complaining should run for office and see just how hard it is to run this great state.report abuse

TAXPAYER, I love your sentence "If all you people doing the crying would only run for office it sure would be a better State". A wonderful point. Rather than complain, get out there and do something about it. Find out just how easy it is to run a state.report abuse

We all have had our heads in the sand tooo long! to blame one party is plain poppy-cock!!!! Both parties are to blame and lets lay some blame on our two Senators those two should never get reelected (Im not standing up for the Governor here )Maine has never been what Id call progressive but then again in many ways i would not want to live anywheres else !!! If all you people doing the crying would only run for office it sure would be a better State !report abuse
