School based health care is rapidly becoming a necessity. It's far less expensive to treat a young person while the problem is relatively new than it does if they wait until they are an adult and have (IF they have) health insurance.

Many parents can no longer afford health care for their children, which is an incredibly sad statement about the country we live in. Nothing is more expensive than an illness left to grow worse. ER visists are the most costly of all. Keeping people healthy is the least expensive way to provide a vibrant society.report abuse

If I was a kid being bullied or having problems at home and was heavy, this BMI tracking would be a nightmare. They need to drop this police approach and look at why kids get fat--partly because they're trying to comfort themselves-- not impose more nazi rules.

And isn't the funding for these things being investigated by OPEGA? What happened to that?report abuse
