Many churches include 15-25% of their budgets, some even more, towards outreach programs, which often are intended to directly meet the needs of those in their communities, even those who aren't members of the church.report abuse

Actually you are incorrect. I know of many Augusta churches that have several outreach programs that benefit the greater Augusta community, staffed by wonderful volunteers.report abuse

Giving money to the church only benefits the church. If you really care about your community and the people in it get out and volunteer or support the community center.report abuse
