A deal is a deal.

If I hire a Lawyer and agree to pay him $300/hr for service, then he provides the service, but I THEN decide to only pay $100/hr for the service... Maybe the Lawyer in this story will just say OK?

They offer contracts for convenience, which allow people to get the best deal if the price of oil goes up. Sometimes you win, sometimes you lose. Offering contracts is a courtesy of the oil companies. They could just offer a "first-come, first served" plan, like a gas station, and buy and sell at highest price.
If this law office doesn't want to pay for their oil, their oil company should immediately stop delivery. This situation is not the fault of your local oil company, who is as stuck to the whims of the oil market as we ordinary people are.report abuse
