Licensed animals are never a problem. It's the owners who don't license their dogs that are.report abuse

The Animal Welfare Dept, run by Worley is the reason why more & more money is needed. Check the Maine Heritage website: Worley receives a whopping $90,000+ in salary & benefits, plus a rather nice state car. That is a whole lot more than a veteran teacher in the state. Worley has just created more problems, by incurring many new lawsuits filed against the state, after illegally run raids and seizures. Many of these seizures were grossly exaggerated, and could have been handled in a less expensive manner.
Many dog owners & breeders are not getting the rabies done,as vets must report to the state. Some go into Canada for shots. Historically, many well-informed, educated animal owners have refused to license their dogs, due to the tax issue. This is nothing new.
If Worley wants more money, and she needs it for her increased seizure rate, then it is time to tax all animals. The burden has been on the dogs way too long.report abuse

What I hate is the fact that if you take your dog to the vet to get its needed shots then the vet now must report you to the City in which you live. Now how many out there will stop taking their dogs to get the shots they need (rabies) only to avoid paying to register their dogs. I think they just created more of a problem.

Granted I firmly believe that if you can't afford to vet your dogs then you should not be allowed to even own one but there are many out there that get them just the same.

I love all 4 of my dogs and get them vetted and registered but how many out there dont do the same. THAT is what causes the most troubles. People that get animals and don't take care of them.report abuse

I firmly believe everyone has a right to express an opinion on everything, whether I agree with someone's position or not.

But if you can't spell, don't own a dictionary or refuse to use one and know nothing about grammar, syntax and punctuation, perhaps you should stick to talk radio. You are less likely to embarrass yourself there than in print.report abuse
