Have you seen the textbooks kids bring home? They are dirty, torn and ancient. Read the article again. Instead of textbooks they will now make use of the internet capablilities. In case you don't know what that means, it means using those laptops that people seem to have forgotten about. Bet they cost more than a field trip.report abuse

Whats the deal with new books? Dont they have enough books already? Other than a brief stint in history what has changed? Teachers should have the knowledge to teach this stuff reguardless of a book. Why do you need to be certified as a teacher to teach if all you do is read and teach directly from a book? Any monkey could do that!!! Glad to see someone has cut books from their budget.report abuse
