First of all, to Peaceful Soul of Farmingdale, ME...there were many outlets to which could have been used to save these lives. ESPECIALLY the Maine Court system who handeled the original case. The high school he attended didn't even know about what had happened and the things he needed help with were not taken care of. So yes, these two wonderful people could have still been alive and numerous people could have been saved from the conflict of living with what has happened.

Secondly, I find the person who wrote the poem about John's mother to be absolutely sick and cruel hearted. If you knew this family first hand you would regret your comments completely.

The events that happened and are still greatly effecting the lives of many today will not be helped by hateful words and threats and hypothesis. They will only be helped my healing, loving words of condolence and affection. Understanding may be something hard to do for anyone, whether connected to this or having just read about it in the newspaper, but fillng yourself with hate and scorn will not help you.

These times are so uncertain
There's a yearning undefined
And people filled with rage
We all need a little tenderness
How can love survive in such a graceless age?

It may not be about forgiveness and it may not be about forgetting, because it will obviously be imossible to do either for some or all, but it is certainly not about spreading hate or consuming yourself and others with hate, whether it be through thoughts or spoken/written words.report abuse

our cruel choice of "Navio" as your user name reveals that you know the Okie family in some way... since that name has a special meaning to their family. So that begs the question:

Who are YOU and what motivated you to post such a hateful "poem"?

Anyone who knows the whole story knows that the Okie family are the kindest and most decent people a person could ever know and, from what I have heard, the same can be said of the Mills family. These murders were and are a tragedy. Two good, loving, people are dead. And two good, loving families are left shattered and grieving. The only appropriate response, the only human response, is to show those two families love and compassion.report abuse

To whomever is using my comments to take a stance against the Kennebec Journal, while I admire your views against the KJ censors, I take great offense to your plagiarism. I take great pride in my comments and while I applaud your stance on this issue, I would greatly appreciate that you put your views in your own words. I do however side with you in that the KJ "Gestapo" need to abide by their own standards in allowing us to convey our concerns on important issues, and not let the minority rule the masses. I have a thought, why don't those few dissenters to my comments write their views on this issue, as opposed to their crying to the KJ about my inappropriate comments. Be a man, or woman, about this and state your case. If you have an issue about my comments, say so! If you can't run with the big dogs, GO LAY DOWN BY YOUR DISH!!!report abuse
