Would someone please tell me HOW the government, be it, Federal, State, County or City can survive without taxes? Oh yea, all taxes are unfair.....all taxes are unjust!

How fortunate for you that you have NO problem paying extra taxes. Congratulations on being so financially superior. Might I remind you that there are others out there (elderly and fixed income) who are NOT as fortunate as you financially. If you have NO problem paying extra taxes perhaps you should do 'what it takes' and write a check to the school so that OTHERS who are NOT as fortunate as you (and WILL have a problem coming up with these extra taxes) will NOT be burdened in trying to come up with the extra taxes YOU are so willing to contribute.report abuse

I agree. This state funds vocal groups. Investment in education is a no-brainer. How about cutting some of the freebies people get for just showing up in Maine without chipping in?report abuse

All it would take is for the parents to pull all the students out of school to send a message. These are your schools and your children. Stand up and get results, sit down and you WILL lose. The choice is up to the parents. Now is the time to act,you all can talk about it later!!report abuse
