I commend our community, our hard working librairians as well as the VOLUNTEER Board members who have worked so hard making a dream come true .
Having served on the library board for many years in the past I am well aware of the situation involving leaks, squirrels, not to mention poor plumbing, bouncy floors and the smell of mold.
ALthough I cannot serve on the board due to health situations in our home I continue to support our library by donating whatever I can to help them continue to raise funds towards improvements. This is something we can all do !
The library is already a meeting place for many.
How wonderful it will be when we have a nice place to meet, check out books, check our email , research for young and old who have no other access to computers, socialize, etc.
With the cutbacks in education dollars what better place then a warm and inviting library can we offer our young?
Our two Librarians are always there to help anyone in need of information and their smiling faces certainly make the search easier. Now lets help them raise the money to have a nice atmosphere!
Kudoos to all of you working so hard to make our community have one more nice place to visit. Library = a bridge where pleasure meets education .report abuse

I have fond childhood memories of the Richmond library. Once a week, my family would drive over from a nearby town (which did not have a library) to pick out books. With that and the book-mobile that used to stop in our town, I developed a love of reading. Even with the Internet and cable television of today, a good library is needed. If it could be built large enough to also accomodate rental space for meetings, that would help to pay for some of the bills. I will donate to a fund for the rebuilding of the Richmond Library so that children of today can have the same experience that I had back in the 50's and 60's. Maybe a news story could be written for the Boston Globe's New England section. There are other people in New England that may want to donate. Good luck with the auction!report abuse
