Hope this cleans up the bad image these old furnaces give the wood burners. If you see smoke coming out of your chimney (except for start up)something is wrong. Green wood, poor draft, not enough air or poorly designed stove.
Time to look at the new stoves (20 years new) approved by the EPA. You will burn less wood.
All you new wood and pellets stove owners, buy a tank of oil while the prices are low. Save your wood and pellets until it get real cold.report abuse
