I can't believe people aren't shocked at the gold-plated benefits our state employees get even when they are admitted at a less-preferred facility. The article just so happened to leave out the fact that if they are admitted at a preferred facility, cost is ZERO?

While there may or may not be legitimate problems with quality at MGMC, they impact the whole community, not just state employees. But the bigger shocker in this story is the disconnect between the benefits state workers get at our expense and the benefits you and I get at our expense!report abuse

ok, now what shall we do at MGMC now that everyone knows of our dirty little secret of sub par patient care? Well, build a new hospital of course..silly me. It is a great cover up if the place is new and pretty.report abuse

A relative suffered a massive stroke this apst week. He was taken to MaineGeneral, but had to be transferred to Portland as MaineGeneral did not have the "tools" necessary in treating this stroke patient. Another family friend who suffered a heart attack was transferred from MaineGeneral to Portland after being stabilized. Something is drastically wrong at MaineGeneral!!

Building a new hospital is just a patch to a severed vessel that is about to rupture. Bullock and company need to be ousted and people truly dedicated to healthcare need to takeover in order to turn this hospital around.report abuse

and now everyone will know of the shoddy care given at this place. A center of excellence? I think NOT!report abuse
