My votes have already been cast, thanks--in the privacy of my own home--nothing finer.

The "price" of a first class stamp was well worth it.report abuse

I didn't realize that those that vote via absentee ballot were forced to mail them in early. Here I thought that Mainers had until election day to return their absentee ballots to their city or town clerk.report abuse

Mr. Billings,
Good article, but technology and time has us in a bottle when it comes to voting. Soon as in proxy votes for corporations we will be challanged to vote by computer. Then what? We (voters) are still trying to figure out the absentee ballot process as it changes every year as it is. I would suggest that all absentee ballots include material for all candidates when they are sent or carried to the voter. It has to be done with oversight to keep it fair and equitable. I'm sure one with a "good" legal mind could figure that out.report abuse
