How about opening a big center for parent education instead! Sounds like a big daycare center which everyone else will end up funding for people who should be taking care of their own children. How about going back where parents actually took the time/energy and sacrificed to raise their children instead of shipping them off in these early years for someone else to do it. You reap what you sow!! Don't have them if you can't afford to raise them properly.report abuse

The concept is nice, but we cannot afford it. This is yet another political pet/legacy project by the Baldacci Administration, but we're going to be left with a large bill to keep it going.

If you're not familiar with the Downeast Heritage Center in Calais, which now sits closed and serves as a massive burden for the taxpayers of Maine, this new project could have a similar result.

If taxpayer moneys will be involved, let's put it on the ballot and let the people decide before any monies are spent.report abuse
