What a joke. This state has made it very clear that our D and D laws are not upheld and penalties for drinking, driving and killing someone are a joke. FEDS, save the tax payers money. This will do no good here, at all.report abuse

And of course everyone knows that non-drug related accidents aren't preventable like the so-called drug-related accidents, right?

So I guess all of those politically correct reckless people (cell-phone users) who crash into other people or things on the road, they basically get a stay-out-of-jail card in life because they're politically correct, while the politically incorrect people who have not caused any harm to anyone will continue to be persecuted because they've been targeted by cult groups like MADD and other corporate fascist throughout the planet.report abuse

This writer is the worst I have ever seen from the famous KJ/Sentinel...she makes the whole thing seem like a joke! Her humor is terrible!
I say we make the penalties harder and stick to them...don't let them get 5 or 6 OUI before we pay attention to them. 1 strike you are out!

what about sending some more funding to EMS so they can afford to continue to pick theses folk up off the pavement when the crash.report abuse

It seems to me that if police wanted to make a point and reduce drunken driving, they would put traffic stops on routes near favorite watering holes. Start at 11 PM and it would be like shooting fish in a barrel. That is, if you are really interested in catching people who are OUI.report abuse
