People supposedly resting in peace aren't supposed to mind planes flying over there head every second but maybe competition skiiers might. Is Augusta going to suspend global warming so there will be plenty of snow?Might be a good idea for someone to read Design With Nature before they build a ski course on old ATV trails. We are facing an energy crisis, Maine kids have an obesity problem ,Maine does not provide one place where you can go out in nature and have any hope of hearing any sound that isn't made by man. If people don't care enough about going outdoors to get up,yes stand up, and go there under there own power taxes shouldn't be helping them sit outside and make noise.whoever this idea is for it sure ain't xc skiers or anyone really concerned about conservation.report abuse

No not 50 or 60 ATV's but there are enough in the summer months - ALOT of the riders have no respect for things - or others property., and they are out there @ all times of the day and night. How can anyone truly NOT cause damage in the dark? (the lights aren't that bright) Besides that, you have a bunch of people that go up there and party and build fires and.....where do people get off doing that stuff on other owners property.

Anyway, I think it is a good idea to have some place for people to go and do things and I think it would be an artists area as well - there are Eagles and Heron and all kinds of Wild life - there use to be ALOT more Deer, Moose, Fox and even Coyotes up there. But over the years they have been pushed out from the ATVers etc - It is not any longer inhabited the way it once was w/ wild life - but it could be again, some have stuck around. I have even, seen the Northern Lights in this area. The night sky (when the airport lights are not on is bautiful over there. I do think we should have an ATVers Club, and then snowmobilers can use certain trails while the snowshoers and cross country skiers in the winter can use other designated trails. It could work. Just my opinion. Oh and I am entitled to it. Thanks for letting me have my say.report abuse

Great another jab at ATVers. Its a tiny bit of trails that locals have used for years and its no more degradation than mother nature or anything else. They make it sound like any given weekend you can see 50 or 60 wheelers in that area.report abuse
