You know, I have no idea how I ended up posting on a website up there in Maine - just surfing the net I suppose and getting caught up in it.
Nonetheless, it's time to go back South. Just wanted to say that I appreciate your passion for your positions and that you do not resort to the vicious name-calling and gutter insults so typical of blogs these days.
Actually, I believe I have been through a little back and forth with you on some other blog somewhere out there probably blogging as LindaA1 - your screen name is memorable.
Til we meet again...report abuse
YOU SAY - "For someone who earlier told me to 'to a little more than just google legislation and parrot some blogger's interpretation', you seem to be doing quite a bit of that yourself."
I gave you either my personal opinion or a quote and link from a reputable source - even-handed sources I think. I don't consider Pew Research Center, Lynn Sweet of the Chicago Sun Times, McClatchy News and The Anchorage Daily News "some blogger's interpretation."
Your insult sounds good but doesn't hold up to scrutiny.
I understand that you don't understand why so many Democratic women are supporting McCain-Palin given their conservative social positions.
That's because you, like Obama, cannot even see what we are angry about. We are voting for our core values - that would be voting against a candidate who, via his treatment of Hillary Clinton, disrespects us, ridicules us, corrupts the party process and masquerades as someone he is not.
We WILL do our best to deprive Obama and the Democrats who blindly support him of this election - and then turn to the party centrists to clean house of these ultra-liberal elitist thugs who think they can justifiably break any rules to get to the top.
I have no liking for the Republican Party. They are but a means to an end in this election. However, I will passionately defend Palin against disingenuous and misogynistic attacks from the far left.
YOU SAY - I truly believe that most women will eventually realize that McCain/Palin is not a good choice for us and vote accordingly.
I don't think so - and the polls are bearing me out. There is nothing Obama can do at this point to re-invent himself into a respectable candidate.report abuse
I'll take any politician who can set aside their personal and religious beliefs so that what is constitutional can be done.

For someone who earlier told me to “to a little more than just google legislation and parrot some blogger's interpretation”, you seem to be doing quite a bit of that yourself. Referencing the “Obama Machine” just makes me happy that finally we have a candidate that can run an effective and disciplined campaign. Democrats have shot themselves in the foot so many times in the past by putting forward inept candidates that hadn’t a clue how to run for office.
Lastly, it’s beyond my comprehension why a Hillary supporter would throw their vote to McCain/Palin. They are diametrically opposed on most of the major issues of our times. I truly believe that most women will eventually realize that McCain/Palin is not a good choice for us and vote accordingly.report abuse
