So I should spend $20,000+ on solar panels to save $50 per month on my electric bill? That's the problem with this whole equation. Until the price comes down on alternative energy, it's not feasible for the average home owner to take these drastic measures. It's also funny how these articles indicate that the home owner burns wood like it's free.report abuse

i have a bank of windows (192sqft) twice the size of the whitefied home....and sure feel the chill on them windy nights....i installed thightly fitting 2" foam panels in the window frames durning winter months to block out the chillreport abuse
