To Mr. Nelson Donnell, you're right, let's admirably give credit where credit is due- directly to the Trooper and other law enforcement officer's who were the first on scene, who put their lives on the line to do their jobs with the best of their abilities and safeguard other human lives and seize the life threatening threats that someone chose to impose on others during the night of the incident. It's funny how some people are so quick to critize the police, no matter what agency they (the Officer) work for when they themselves have no idea what the job entails or what it takes to be such a professional; everyone is quick to take a side without knowing both sides of the case. To the history of the involved Trooper, nobody has any business critizing him for his previous decision making because they were not present. To Mr. Aaron White, you're right, behavior as such should not be tolerated and if you don't know how to read, let me spell it out for you, IT WAS NOT TOLERATED because he was disciplined-please don't forget that nobody is perfect-without knowing the person you should not hold everything against him because he could have saved your life that night-if that was the case, would you still think he "should resign?" Didn't think so. At the end of the day, I just want to say thanks to all of the men and women, including law enforcement and military personel who keep us safe. Maybe instead of being negative, everyone should try to be positive and appreciate others because life's too short and if you carry your cold hearted burden feeling rear end around too long, you may have a poor health outcome.report abuse

Amazing how cold hearted people can be. Especially the writer of this artical. Here we have a man who was forced to kill another human being in order to save his own life and countless others that night. Including civilian and other law enforcement, and here you animals are going to bring up his past and the mistakes he has made??? is he not going though enough? Oh I got it.... you are all perfect, that must be it. Unbelivable what media will do these days for a story. Im sure you folks commenting on this as well as the writer wouldnt have the BRASS enough to even be put in a situation where you face a twisted individual with a gun pointed at you. Further more im sure if that twisted individual was running down your road threatnening the lives of your loved ones you would have been begging for this "Super Trooper" to get there faster! You should all be ashamed of yourselves.report abuse

I see that one of those big "ifs" was used to qualify this "admitted behavior" claim. Kind of clever, but I don't think it applies to this situation.

What we see here is the release of documents and reports uncovering the past conduct of this power tripping Super Trooper. These released reports and documents are the results of a compelled response to a Freedom of Information Act request by the Morning Sentinel.

I'll be the first to admit that on many an occasion I felt that the printed and electronic news medias in the U.S. were biased toward protecting the interests of government in convincing us how lucky we are that someone else was the target of government abuses of authority and power.

But on this occasion, I feel that the Morning Sentinel and its reporter seem to be trying to present an unbiased and balanced coverage of this incident and the follow-up investigation to the best of their ability, without feeling the wrath of government going for their collective throats. I earnestly hope that thorough and unbiased news reporting will continue and not give in to political pressures of the powers that be.

Let's give credit where credit is due.report abuse

If this is admitted behavior, what has been covered up? At least this guy had a gun with him when he got shot. I have never heard the term "unarrest" before.report abuse
