"You have the feeling of knowing that you've placed your wits against the animal's,"…… "The animal could go anywhere, but the point is, you have made him step in that one spot where the trap is."
Trapping is not a skill, Webster’s dictionary defines trapping as “A condition, device, expedient, place, etc., for entrapping the unwary or unsuspecting”.
You see you have to be unsuspecting to be trapped, pitting 500 years of the industrial revolution and someone else’s science, “an array of oils used to attract certain animals” to trap an animal is not really a challenge,
Using chemicals you purchase is not exactly “outwitting” the animal.
Getting an education and outwitting your own kind is a “challenge”, especially when you are wearing “bright orange and camouflage”. Try getting a good paying job dressed like an idiot.
“Tattooed men, some wearing bright orange or camouflage-patterned caps”, we can’t forget the childish uniform of the day.
As far as trapping being passed down, so are weak genes and incest, and a lot of that comes from the same part of Maine too!report abuse
By the way....any suggestions on how to control animal populations if you disapprove of trapping so much?
You're not wasting my time, I really want to here your ideas on controlling the exploding pine martin populations? How about those beavers that build dams and flood forests, farmlands and roads?
Notice all those racoons splattered in the roads lately. Too bad they hadn't been humanely dispatched by a trapper to provide sustinance for him and his family.
You do realize over population causes starvation, breeds rabies and wrecks havoc on the enviroment while wasting a valuable resource don't you. Of course you do....enjoy your dead cow tonight...I'm sorry steak dinner.report abuse
