Wouldn't it have been refreshing if our esteemed U.S. Senators had said, no, this is money that we don't need ? If they had said we do not need to bring larger jets into Augusta, we don't need the increased noise and, for once, we are going to stand up for the residents of Augusta who will have to put up with it.

Notice how proud these two are of their ability to effectively rip off the taxpayers of Missouri or Iowa or wherever. And for what, because they feel that we suckers will appreciate their Robin Hood tactics. They are probably right too, it is a sad situation but they are probably right.

Maybe someday we will learn that this is not free money. It is, instead, the ultimate shell game played by accomplished political hucksters.

These two clowns could learn a lot from Palin.report abuse

There was some people that fought against TF Green expanding the runway. Don't know what happen. Good service out of Green for southern New England.
I lived near Cape Cod Airport and planes flew over my house. Few big planes. No problem.
Having a foam truck in the area would be good if there was a tanker truck fire.report abuse

Bob42: half of the Augusta airport is in a commercial area. There is a huge population surrounding TF Green to the north, east and south and there are no complaints from the area residents. I have an aunt that lives at the east end of the airfield and after you are there for a day you don't even hear the aircraft.report abuse

TF Green Airport south of Providence is a nice size airport. Half of it is in commercial area.
Direct connection to I 95 makes it easy to get to.
It is one of the few things Rhode Island has going for it. ( 7% sales tax)
