I'm still waiting for people to get angry about MAINECARE and start phoning and e-mailing their representatives. If you read the eligibility requirements, an unmarried woman's boyfriend (even when it's known by all that he's the father & even when HE and SHE admit he's the father) does NOT have his income considered for eligibility. Therefore, unmarried couples where the man has a good or great income still get the benefits of MaineCare no questions asked. State tax-payer money is going to people who can afford to take care of their own, but who receive a free pass! Check the eligibility info yourself:
