Has anyone noticed that there are always certain men and woman in government who are quite capable and very culpable in creating various terms, phrases and schemes that are designed to alienate the majority of other men and women from their supposed natural, inalienable rights of life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness?

And in case you haven't noticed, have you also observed that those same people have no problem with government being a organized collective group of men and woman providing a service at the barrel of a gun and as such government the servant now has become government the master?

Now, is it any wonder that the myth of private property is just that, a myth? I mean, if it's private, where's the authority to tax it in the first place? There is none, but people in public office know that, and yet they continue to extort credit from the people because they don't know how to make an honest living or pay their debts any other way.

Have you noticed that these same government supporters quite often will use a pretext that they have some pretext of authority to impose taxes acquired by a right that they were blessed with by a supposed Sovereign Ruler of the Universe male image. Give me a break, is everyone in life suppose to be a hoodwinked idiot or is government really just another Masonic inspired and contrived mystery religion being foisted upon the people.report abuse

Didn't the legislature promise to provide property tax relief to all Mainer's? Mine went up 34% in 2007 after our revaluation. No incumbent will get my vote.report abuse

Real Estate taxes in China just took a huge jump due to a very high increase in the School budget. Due to the timing of the School budget increase China taxpayers won’t be able to tell for sure what happened.

I don’t think it’s any coincidence that the School budget shot up the same year the revaluation was to take place.

At a meeting in China recently the Town manager was asked how much the mill rate would have gone up this year if there were no revaluation. As I understand his answer it would have gone up over ten percent.

That ten percent increase will now be mixed in with the revaluation. Some taxpayers will have their taxes go up more than they would have and some lucky ones that had their taxes lowered (it happens) from the revaluation would not be lowered as much.

The school staff and their very active supporters have skillfully hidden increases in our taxes due to their school costs, in our new tax revaluation.

Isn’t our China school committee crafty and well organized!report abuse

This is a great program, but could be eliminated if all property taxes were lower. Homeowners are just property managers for the government. The more improvements or upkeep one makes to the home, the more the government taxes them.

As for renters, a lot of them receive government subsidies throughout the year and still receive the rebate. GOOD FOR THEM!!report abuse
