Such corruption in the “card check” process may include intimidation or bribery of employees. However the legislation Allen and Michaud co-sponsored would not only deny employers the right to demand a secret ballot election for union representation but has other provisions that employers object to.
These other provisions appear to include mandatory arbitration of the first union contract. Susan Collins voted against the "card check" legislation when it came up in the Senate.report abuse
Less than half of the voters think Obama has the experience to be president, while 80% believe McCain does, according to an LA Times poll!
Every election season, when the Republican candidates get tough and the Democrat candidate starts to drop in the polls, the liberals start whining about negative campaigning.
On television we hear liberal knuckleheads demanding a more civilized debate that addresses the real issues.
It was b. HUSSEIN obama who turned down the chance to have debates with McCain. REAL issues would have been discussed.
But b. HUSSEIN obama wants events where he can speak in generalities of hope and change and wishfull thinking -- like he did in Berlin.
Then ya got tommy allen, Pelosi and Reid, ahhh but that is another chapter!
STOP ELECTING DEMOCRATS!report abuse
Please note, that although an academician, Reisert provides absolutely NO reference for this bold and naked statement that people with the MOST education are likely to take the most hardened stances.
In fact, the most hardened anti abortion or anti gay and lesbian stances according to a 2006 Pew study are held by evangelical Christians, and a 2008 Pew study indicates that a majority of this group has a "some college or less" -- hardly the "MOST education" to which the Associate Professor refers.
And regarding complexity of thought patterns, a recent study by Jaime Napier and John Jost of New York University concluded that conservatives were happier than liberals because conservatives had a set world view and allowed no or few contradictions to enter their thoughts while liberals where more open to contradictory possibilities.
Specifically, the researchers wrote "Our research suggests that inequality takes a greater psychological toll on liberals than on conservatives." Hardly a closed minded approach.
Is this the approach Associate Professor Reisert takes with his students -- bold and naked statements with no references, and with plenty of readily available contradictory material online?report abuse
