We'd have millions more barrels of oil available if it weren't for the law prohibiting smoking in bars.

Bar doors will be opened thousands of times a day across this state - as the smokers step out for a puff.

Reinstate smoking in bars and the crisis is over bud.report abuse

The wasteful rich.
From the people that heat their summer places all winter to the McMansions built last year with heating system going at full blast, wasteful use of heating oil drives up the price.
They don't care.
The real rich would park their cars at meter and pay the fine, because they didn't want to bother putting more quaters in. Until their cars were towed.
The speeders on the highway getting ticket after ticket, until their drivers license is taken away.
What is the answer?report abuse

"And on a side note in addition to what an earlier poster wrote. Downed wood of all types on everyone's land should be made available for firewood. If you're a land owner and have any down wood, please make it available to your neighbors for fuel."

Dead wood is eaten by termites. They produce one third of all the Methane in the world.
So that tree you saved is now dead and adding to global warming 5 times more than the CO2 they collected.
I don't want fines for having dead wood, but signs "Warning High Methane Levels" posted along road might do it. Dead wood is also a fire hazard.
We will go after those Methane producing deer next.report abuse
